Unwind in the Forest on Friday afternoons! Forest Fridays is a new initiative developed by Prof. Sarah Gardner (Environmental Studies and ZCE) that involves guided nature walks or free time to explore or relax in Hopkins Memorial Forest.
Vans depart from the steps behind Paresky (on Park St) at 4pm and returns 5:30pm.
Reserve your spot here.
Career Conversations are informal conversations with visiting speakers about internships and careers, typically in environmental and/or sustainability related fields.
The conversations typically follow Log Lunch presentations.
Interested students can reach out to Prof. Sarah Gardner at [email protected] for information on upcoming conversations and how to participate.
Hopkins Memorial Forest (HMF) hosts Fall Fest (October), Maple Fest (March), educator programs, and more.
Fall Fest is a great opportunity to come out and take part in traditional fall and forest related activities, including cider pressing, apple butter brewing, cross-cut sawing, shake splitting, games and exhibits.
We offer live music by Williams student musicians and locally sourced apples, coffee and refreshments.
This year's event took place on October 5 on the grounds around the Rosenburg Center.
During Maple Fest, students, staff, faculty, community members, and families are welcome to learn about the process of maple syrup making and taste maple treats at the forest.
We offer pancakes, coffee, maple treats, sugaring education, syrup sales, live music and more!
The exact date depends on the sugaring season. Check back for updates and/or sign up for our google group listserv to get notified of the date when it is set.
For all events: parking is always limited, so we encourage ride-sharing or cycling to the event.
