The guide was created over a period of a year and was started by interns Charlotte Luke (’25) and completed by Saumya Shinde (’26) when they both worked as ZCE Zero Waste Interns.

The guide includes helpful tips and a comprehensive checklist on how to reduce the amount of waste created by events and how to properly dispose of what waste is left.

For a holistic overview of sustainable event planning, considering aspects such as accessibility, responsible buying, and purpose, we recommend you refer to our Sustainable Events Guide instead.
