Apprenticeships, Internships, and Graduate StudyThe carrot harvest at Hawthorne Valley Farm, Ghent, NY

Students may find these resources below useful as they begin to consider food-related study and work.

Garden & Food Related Internships on Campus

During the summer the Zilkha Center for Environmental Initiatives hires at least two students to care for the campus gardens and/or to pursue food-related research projects. Applications are usually due in February. Read more about sustainability-related summer internships opportunities. Meet some of the past summer garden interns and learn about their projects here and here.

During the school year, there are also regular garden and landscaping work opportunities at the Envi Center and opportunities to help calculate the amount of “real food” Williams purchases – with the intention that we can work to increase real food purchases.  Read more about school-year work opportunities.
