Waste Audit 2013

Results

• 30% of the sorted weight consisted of food waste.
• 30% of the sorted volume consisted of plastic bags.
• 15% of the sorted volume consisted of paper towels and this is about double from the previous sort.
• Mixed containers were slightly less than 2009.
• There was not as much non-recyclable trash compared to the 2009 waste sort.
• Although we did not track compostable dishware, we did observe that less than one barrel total from all buildings was sorted.
