Apply here!

Application deadline extended!  Applications due Monday January 27, 2020 at 11:59pm.

If you would like to learn about social justice and the environment, or are eager to tackle the world’s most pressing challenges, Root is the place for you. Focusing on identity, sustainability and social justice, Root provides students with the skills they need to become change-agents on campus and beyond.  We are looking for enthusiastic and curious leaders to welcome the incoming class to the Root, EphVentures, and Williams communities.  No previous experiences are necessary – you don’t need to have been a Root participant to apply. Leading for Root can be a great way to learn more about these themes yourself.

Root leader expectations:
Interested in learning more about sustainability, identity and social justice.
Read and respond to required materials in syllabus over the summer
Act as main liaison and support for Rooties
Facilitate conversations, lead group activities during unscheduled time
Support and build community with fellow Leaders
Lead one session focusing on either Sustainability, Davis Center/Activism/Resources, or Environmental Justice in a pair and with staff support

Available to participate in spring training, May 25-28, 2020.
Available to return to campus for fall training from August 30 – September 1, and EphVentures program, from September 2–September 6.

Root is a collaboration between the Davis Center and the Zilkha Center for Environmental Initiatives, so you may contact anyone at either center for more information and questions. For more information about Root you can also visit our website: https://first-year.williams.edu/ephventures/root/
