The Zilkha Center for Environmental Initiatives and the Provost’s office are seeking a student research assistant for the summer of 2017. A task force organized by the provost will be researching the theory and practice of carbon offset markets in order to write a report that will guide the College’s approach to carbon offsetting. The student will participate in all meetings, take notes, review published sources on carbon markets, and contribute to the writing of the final report. The task force will likely meet with other institutions of higher education that are implementing innovative carbon offsetting or pricing programs, and the student research assistant will participate in those meetings.
This position can range from seven to ten weeks, depending on availability. Preference will be given to students who have some knowledge of carbon offsets and carbon markets from classwork, but we are primarily looking for strong research and writing skills. Interested students should contact Amy Johns (ajohns) with a resume and brief explanation of your interest and availability.
Please submit materials as soon as possible and at least before Thursday, May 4th at midnight.
