Compost Friends

Compost Friends are trained student greeters that assist their peers in properly sorting their plates at the dish return. We know that one of the top reasons students do not sort their waste is because they are rushed and confused about what is and is not compostable. By placing friendlyStudent and dining services employee stand by clearing station and point at the sign showing what is compostable students at the clearing stations, new and returning students can slow down and ask questions to learn what can (and cannot) be composted here at Williams. Compost Friends operates at beginning of the fall semester, including First Days.

If you’re wondering what you can compost on campus, learn more here!
