New LED Lights at WCMA

The Zilkha Center is helping to replace incandescent lights in the Williams College Museum of Art
with LEDs, which better illuminate the spaces while saving energy. In the
WCMA store, 60-watt halogen display lights were replaced with 14-watt
dimmable LEDs. Light levels increased 16% while energy use dropped a
whopping 77%. Additional LEDs in a corridor increased light levels 55%. The
new lamps are not only brighter, but they will save about 3200 kWh a year,
enough energy to run 9 desktop computers!
