Williamstown Holiday Farmers Market

20151122_140043WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass., November 13, 2015—Berkshire Grown will host Holiday Farmers’ Markets from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on November 22 and December 20 at the Williams College Towne Field House (82 Latham Street).

More than 50 vendors will be at each market, coming from Massachusetts, Vermont, and New York. These popular events feature locally grown and produced foods and gifts, including fruits and vegetables, cheeses, meats, breads, yarn and crafts during months when farmers’ markets are not open in the region. Admission is free, and the markets will be equipped to process EBT cards/SNAP benefits on site. The markets will feature traditional acoustic music by the MoCA jam band and face painting and seasonal crafts activities for children, plus hot lunch fare like grilled sausages and brick oven pizza.

12240039_10156211535190720_166527483442723595_nLast year, more than 1,700 people attended the two Williamstown markets, generating more than $72,000 in sales. “What’s wonderful is that every dollar we spend grows the local food economy—helps us put money directly into a farmer’s pocket and keeps the Berkshires the pastoral place we love,” said Barbara Zheutlin, executive director of Berkshire Grown.
